Save money and water with Alcona from Twyford
Twyford Bathrooms has added yet another bathroom suite to its ever-growing water- saving bathroom collection with Alcona – a stylish yet affordable bathroom suite with matching furniture that will help consumers save water in the home.

Alcona has been launched with a new water saving version of Twyford’s popular Aquations brassware (taps) which can be used on Alcona or indeed on any Twyford Bathroom suite to further reduce the water used in the home.
The Twyford Flushwise WC is a first in the UK and flushes at 4 or 2.6 litres – this is around half the amount other WCs currently use. When one considers that the toilet is responsible for 30% of domestic water consumption, this represents an amazing saving with every flush.
Unlike other so called ‘low flush’ toilets on the market, with Twyford Flushwise the power behind the flush is maintained; but clever engineering in the bowl and cistern reduces the amount of water needed by up to 60%. Indeed in recognition of its water saving credentials, the Flushwise technology has been given an Award by Waterwise the prestigious independent body which raises awareness of water usage in the home.
Alcona is complemented by the new water saving Aquations brassware, continuing the water saving theme of this new suite. The Aquations monobloc mixer has a clever dual action mechanism; the first click lets water flow at 2.5 litres per minute, and if a more powerful flow is required a second click will allow a flow of 5 litres a minute.
Although water-saving was a key objective when designing Alcona, the suite offers style and choice, from the traditional full pedestal basin and close coupled WC to wall hung and semi-ped for a more contemporary look.
Alcona’s stylish basins with their simple Euro-inspired form range from 400mm for an ensuite to an indulgent 600mm for a family bathroom. Yet the highlight of the Alcona collection is undoubtedly the sleek white furniture options which give maximum flexibility to realise a modern bathroom scheme. The contemporary simple metal handles on the furniture units are of a style usually associated with bathrooms at much higher price points. Furniture options include a wall mounted furniture cabinet, a side furniture unit and a tall furniture unit.
The soft contours of the Alcona suite are accentuated by the modular, streamlined furniture for a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic. Alcona also comes with the option for a soft close seat, a first for a suite at this price point.
